Tyrese Haliburton Drains First Basket of 2026 Preseason from the Elbow Against Minnesota Timberwolves

In a crisp early-season highlight posted by the official Indiana Pacers account, star guard Tyrese Haliburton knocks down his first points of the 2026 NBA preseason with a smooth mid-range jumper from the elbow. The short clip captures Haliburton’s trademark poise and scoring touch as the Pacers host the Minnesota Timberwolves in a preseason matchup, giving fans an early glimpse of the All-Star playmaker’s form ahead of the regular season.

Detailed Video Description

The video opens with the Pacers in transition on their home floor. Scoreboard shows Minnesota leading 3-0 with just over 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter. A Pacers player gathers the ball and looks ahead as two-on-one opportunities develop. Haliburton, wearing his familiar white No. 0 Indiana jersey, receives the ball near the free-throw line extended.

With a Timberwolves defender closing out, Haliburton rises confidently and launches a clean elbow jumper. The ball leaves his hand with perfect rotation, swishes through the net, and the score updates to 3-2. Crowd noise rises as the arena reacts. Commentators note “Halliburton got it. Free throw line jumper… he’s on the board” and praise the stop-on-a-dime balance.

The clip closes with a close-up of Haliburton jogging back on defense, focused expression, as the game continues. The entire sequence lasts roughly 11 seconds and highlights both the playmaking setup and Haliburton’s efficient mid-range scoring ability that has become a signature part of his game.

Why This Video Stands Out

This highlight carries extra weight because it marks Tyrese Haliburton’s first made basket of the entire 2026 preseason. After an offseason of recovery, preparation, and high expectations for the Pacers, seeing their franchise point guard get on the board early signals positive momentum.

Haliburton’s ability to create space and knock down contested mid-range shots remains one of the most valuable skills in today’s spacing-heavy NBA. The elbow jumper is a high-efficiency look that defenses often struggle to contest cleanly. Posting the clip on the official Pacers account also generates strong engagement among fans eager for any early look at the team’s core players. In a league where preseason highlights help build narrative and excitement, this simple but clean make from Haliburton delivers exactly what supporters want to see.

Final Thoughts and Call to Watch

As the Indiana Pacers continue their preseason schedule, moments like this serve as reminders of the talent and leadership Tyrese Haliburton brings to the roster. Whether you are a longtime Pacers fan, an admirer of elite point-guard play, or simply looking for early NBA 2026-27 storylines, this first-basket highlight is worth a watch.
